I get where you're coming from with some of this. Anode and Lug definitely should've been a bigger part of the plot. A lot of it does just feel like random separate stories that aren't as good as the ones in mtmte. I love the downer ending that then gets subverted. It made my heart sink and then it made my heart soar. Rung didn't die. He shows up at the end. He survived. I do think that dark cybertron made Megatron's redemption seem too easy, but I think in mtmte/ll it was handled astonishingly well.

Honestly whenever I read the lines that Optimus has whenever I see this I hear the ORIGINAL voice of Optimus prime speaking the lines (I know I was born august 31st in ‘93 and the g1 of transformers aired in the mid 80s but I have seen bits and pieces of the g1 iteration despite starting to get into the swing of things in the later part of the beast wars era so to speak and in the early 2000s rid)

People like Optimus are too kind to feel everything bad bappening at full power. They irl become less emotional in general. It's a protecting mechanism for the mind to not get too damaged by horrors of wars ans cruelty.

It's definitely an interesting bit of background, but I now can't help wondering about the Cybertronian 'god'. It's obviously some kind of, in simple terms, robot factory. But who built it, and why? Was there a precursor species on that planet, who were going extinct and decided to build an AI to create non-biological life? Was it aliens? Was it some kind of time loop, where later bots built the factory and then took it back in time? And, perhaps more interestingly, why? Why does it create bots with such human personalities and psychologies? Why make them humanoid in shape? There are obvious Doylist answers, but I prefer to look at the Watsonian level.
